Dr. Keith A. Hartbauer
Dr. Keith A. Hartbauer is an experienced educator and administrator who has dedicated over three decades to public education. He was appointed as the Superintendent of Schools for the Brownsville Area School District in 2017.
Dr. Hartbauer's academic journey began at Slippery Rock University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education with a focus on Athletic Training. He furthered his education at the same institution, obtaining a master’s degree in Exercise Science. Committed to advancing his leadership skills, he pursued a master’s in administrative leadership from Duquesne University and later acquired his Superintendent’s Certificate from California University of Pennsylvania. Culminating his academic pursuits, Dr. Hartbauer earned a Doctorate in Advanced Leadership Studies from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Throughout his career, Dr. Hartbauer has held various roles, including Health and Physical Education teacher, head football coach, assistant high school principal, and high school principal and superintendent of schools.
In his role as Superintendent, Dr. Hartbauer has been instrumental in fostering a culture of success within the Brownsville Area School District. During his tenure in Brownsville the district achieved National and State recognition as a “School of Choice” and district to watch! He has actively engaged with the community, hosting events such as the "Legislator Coffee and Chat" to discuss educational initiatives and collaborate with stakeholders.
His extensive educational background and diverse professional experiences have equipped Dr. Hartbauer with a comprehensive understanding of the educational landscape, enabling him to lead with insight and dedication.
Tom Burton
Tom Burton is a nationally recognized leadership expert, award-winning educator, author, and CEO of WeEmpower LLC. He also serves as Executive Director of High AIMS and is Co-Founder of the Western PA Leadership Collaborative, expanding his impact by connecting and developing educational leaders across regions.
A retired superintendent of Princeton City Schools, Tom has dedicated nearly four decades to developing leaders, strengthening organizations, and creating cultures where people thrive. During his tenure as superintendent, he led one of Ohio’s most diverse school districts to a four-star state rating and a Top 20 ranking in student growth.
Today, through WeEmpower LLC and his leadership partnerships, Tom coaches and advises superintendents, administrators, leadership teams, and business executives across the country. A dynamic and sought-after keynote speaker, Tom has spoken in more than 40 states and six countries, challenging audiences to lead with greater purpose, clarity, courage, and impact. His speaking and leadership work has included the American Association of School Administrators (AASA), Digital Promise, Harvard University, the Institute for Education Innovation, Curriculum Associates, the National Superintendent’s Forum, universities, school districts, businesses, and leadership organizations nationwide.
Tom’s leadership has earned numerous honors, including the Tech & Learning Innovative Superintendent Award, Educator of the Year in Ohio, Workforce Champion Award, Community Champion Award, NASSP/MetLife Ohio Middle School Principal of the Year, Gordan Vars Lifetime Achievement through OMLA, and recognition among the Ohio 500 most influential executives. At the heart of Tom’s work is a simple belief: leadership is about empowering people to turn vision into action and action into lasting impact.
